The website Vouchercloud.net recently commissioned 10 Yetis Public Relations to conduct a survey to determine the average American’s knowledge of technical jargon.
While 97% knew what “texting” is and 88% knew what a “tablet” is,
23% thought an “MP3” was a “Star Wars” robot and 27% thought a gigabyte is a South American insect.
Tellingly, when asked if it is important to have good knowledge of technology in this day and age,
61% respondants said “yes” and 39% said “no”.
