The network for working professionals, LinkedIn, has announced its new learning portal, LinkedIn Learning. The social network acquired Lynda.com, which has over 9,000 coursese online, for $1.5 billion a year and a half ago. Microsoft is in the process of acquiring LInkedIn for $26.2 billion. Personal disclosure – I nave competed dozens of courses at Lynda.com.
LinkedIn has announced that it is acquiring training company Lynda.com. In the interest of full disclosure I mus admit that I have completed dozens of courses at lynda.com and consider its video courses the best training available.
“Through the acquisition, LinkedIn has revealed some formidable ambitions. Eventually it hopes to “map the global workforce” by creating profiles for each company, and job within that company, as well as the skill sets required to obtain those jobs. LinkedIn then hopes to connect workers to educational institutions and platforms like lynda.com where they can master those skills.”
